Mech-Tech achieves 25% cost savings on pulp mill project using Intergraph® CAESAR II® for stress analysis interfacing with Intergraph CADWorx® for plant design
HOUSTON, Texas, June 8, 2010 – A new Case Study on Intergraph CAESAR II and Intergraph CADWorx software details how Mech-Tech Projects used the software programs on a fiber line project for a pulp mill, leveraging the software programs’ ability to import and export models between CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis and CADWorx, for AutoCAD®-based plant design, to reduce engineering man-hours by 50%.
The case describes how Mech-Tech was able to successfully produce project deliverables, including piping layout plans, piping isometrics with support, material take off (MTO, also known as bills of material or BOM), drawings for other equipment and locations, cable tray layouts, and stress analysis. Overall, they reported a 25% cost savings in the plant design using these software programs.
